The quality is not the best. There was no taping allowed at this event it was a benefit for Seva and Wavy Gravy's 69th Bday Bash and my 21st B-Day :-D

Subject: Thanks Pete and Edgar!

Thanks you Pete and Edgar! Haven't had a chance to listen to the whole show yet, but I remember being there and absolutely loving the show--The best Phil I'd ever gotten at the time
And Edgar I think I maybe have been one row behind you, young kid with older dad (he asked you to please sit down at one point while HBR played and nobody was dancing yet--Which of course changed as Phil and Friends took the stage!)
So after all those occasional thought of "whatever happened to the recording of that show?" (we remembered seeing the tape stand set up somewhere out there in the audience), here we go. Too bad the recording quality is so poor and Im not too crazy about Al Schnier's vocals with the Dead tunes (not crazy about Phil's singing here either tho...), altho the intro for Chinacat is pretty good and his singing fits better on that tune than any other I think -- with the exception being the tune Mexico, which is after all, imo the best moe. song-which doesnt necessarily mean too much...--A pretty good version here though.
Too early for me to tell the overall quality of the show, so no rating--lower quality recording, but there's some magic in there somewhere, Im sure of it...
The lineup that night was:
Phil Lesh - bass. John Molo - drums. Al Schnie(de)r - guitar. Mookie Siegel - keyboards. Barry Sless - guitar, pedal steel. Gloria Jones - vocals. Jackie LaBranch - vocals.
The Lovelight/Wavy's b day involved many of the musicians from that night, including members from HBR (all of them even)? Ben Harper (solo) was at the event, but I don't know for sure if he came up for the jam...
